Jonathan Wirth - Co-Founder, Principal Owner

Jonathan Wirth is the co-founder and principal owner of Wirth & Company which was founded in 2005. He has over 20 years of experience working with homeowners, designers, and architects building homes in The Hamptons. Jonathan was born and raised in East Hampton, he decided to forego college to follow his passion and engage in real world experience as a builder right out of high school by working for a family friend. To gain construction management skills and knowledge, Jonathan attended Wentworth College in Boston before returning home to start Wirth & Company with his father Walter. Over the last 17 years, Jonathan has grown Wirth & Company into a business with over 90 employees and hundreds of loyal and happy clients. His vision for Wirth & Company was and has always been to build structurally sound homes with impeccable attention to detail while facilitating a smooth and enjoyable experience for his clients.

Walter Wirth - Co-Founder

Walter has been in the building trade in East Hampton since he was 18 years old. Starting straight out of East Hampton High School, he worked for a local builder for a couple of years until his side business, a floor installation and resurfacing company, took off. Walter continued in his flooring business until expanding into general contracting with Walter Wirth Builders in the mid-1980s. During that time, he specialized mainly in high-end renovations and the occasional custom home build. After retiring in 2003, Jonathan and Walter joined forces to start Wirth & Company in 2005 with dreams of turning it into one of the Hampton’s premier custom home builders. Today, he serves as a project manager and consultant within the company, given his 50+ years of experience, and enjoys being able to work alongside his son, daughter, son-in-law, and nephew.

Emma Field - Financial Officer

Emma started her career out of college at MINDBODY, the fastest growing SAAS Wellness company in the world at the time. At MINDBODY, she was the Advertising Program Manager and later the International Marketing Manager where she oversaw multimillion-dollar marketing budgets in the UK, Germany, and Australia. Emma left the corporate world in 2015 to join the family business as their Financial Officer, where she now oversees all day-to-day operations as well as project financials with her team.

 

Derek Field - Jr. Partner, Sr. Project Manager

Derek is a Jr. Partner and Senior Project Manager at Wirth & Company. He has been a life-long resident of East Hampton with a direct family line to the original settlers of East Hampton, the Mulford’s. In 2009 he became a Wirth family member when he married Walter’s daughter, Emma, with whom he shares three daughters. Derek brings over 20 years of experience having started off in the trade industry during high school while working for a family member as a mason and then moving on to custom home renovations with a local contractor. In 2009 he joined Wirth & Company as a project manager and has been helping to grow the company’s stellar reputation ever since. He shares Jonathan’s vision of building with integrity and attention to detail so that every Wirth & Company client moves into their home with 100% satisfaction.

Matt Farley - Senior Project Manager, Estimator

With over 20 years in the design, construction, and real estate development business, Matt Farley’s career has touched on all key aspects of the industry. He has directly managed more than $750M in construction and development projects spanning the retail, hospitality, commercial, and residential market sectors. Matt is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds Professional Certifications in Sustainable Design and Green Building. His areas of expertise span from conceptual planning through project close-out, and his project management philosophy is rooted in process, technology, and engagement. Joining our team in 2020 as a Senior Project Manager at Wirth & Company, Matt has been instrumental in managing the success of our largest projects, from both the office and in the field.

Brian Climer - Senior Project Manager

Brian, originally from South Carolina, discovered his passion for the custom home building industry at the young age of 14. Under the guidance of his father, he immersed himself in the world of hands-on custom framing, learning the value of hard work through their family framing business in Greenville, SC. Recognizing his strengths in imagination, design, and analytical thinking, Brian decided to transition from wielding a hammer to pursuing degrees in both Architectural Engineering and Construction Engineering. Throughout his career, Brian has excelled in various facets of the industry, including estimating, project management, and operations management. For a decade, he held crucial positions within the high-end custom home industry in Charleston, SC, before making the move to Long Island in 2021. In 2023, Brian became a valued team member at Wirth and Company, where he contributes his extensive experience and unwavering dedication to excellence to all operations and projects he embarks upon.

 

Sawyer Wirth - Project Manager

Sawyer, who is originally from Tampa, Florida, started traveling to the Hamptons during the summer months to apprentice with local craftsmen and plumbers which is where he began to grow his knowledge of the industry. As Jonathan’s cousin, and a natural fit for the family business, he made the full time move to East Hampton to start working for Wirth & Company in 2019. Sawyer enjoys utilizing his problem-solving skills and carpentry knowledge to maintain properties, coordinate workers, and procure materials for jobs. He strives to build good rapport and deliver exceptional service to all of Wirth & Company’s clients.

Daniel Conkright - Project Manager, Estimator

Dan is originally from Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. He obtained an BA in Marketing at Lycoming College during which time he met his wife Kate, an East Hampton native, and eventually moved to Sag Harbor in 2012. After his relocation, Dan worked at a few local establishments building his knowledge of the East End until settling into Wirth & Company in 2018. He started in our financial department to gain knowledge on estimating and budgets, but quickly was thrown into the fire as a project manager where he thrived in his new role.

Brook Kelley - Senior Site Supervisor

Brook brings over 15 years of high-end construction supervision experience to Wirth & Company. Prior to joining Wirth & Company in 2020, he was a project manager at Hampton Design, a site super at JGK Construction Management, and then went to T&S Mott as a site supervisor for 8 years. During his years of experience, Brook coordinated and oversaw all work on site including material procurement, proper safety procedures, daily records of site personnel, field orders and RFI’s, liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals, and following architectural plans and project timeline to ensure deadlines were met. Brook hit the ground running at Wirth & Company as an integral part of our project management team, running some of our largest projects in a neat and efficient manner.

 

Gabrielle Mahlum - Project Financial Assistant

Gabrielle’s role as Wirth and Company’s construction administrator is enriched by her years of experience with local builders and high-end landscaping companies. As an East Hampton native and the daughter of a gifted local finish carpenter, she naturally understands the caliber, complexity, and precision of East End construction and design.

Brendan Vilar - Executive Assitant

Brendan is a member of the Gosman family of Montauk, where he was born, raised, and lives today. After graduating from the University of Delaware where he majored in Business Management and Political Science, he briefly worked in the corporate world before returning home to the East End. As a 6th generation Bonacker, he has a unique and unparalleled understanding of the local community and all that it has to offer. Although new to the construction industry, his attention to detail and can-do attitude has set him up for a bright future at Wirth & Company.

Jordyn Cicero - Project Financial Assistant

Jordyn is a project financial assistant and works within the team tracking and filing for all jobs. She enjoys using her communication and organizational skills to problem solve and help with any day-to-day tasks. After receiving her AA from Florida State University, Jordyn moved to East Hampton in 2019 and began working in hospitality and childcare before joining the Wirth & Company team.

 

Ben Kushner - Site Supervisor

Ben was born and raised in Sag Harbor. After graduating from SUNY Buffalo with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration he worked in Brooklyn for a short time as a technology recruiter, but soon moved back home for his love of surfing, fishing, and everything else the Hamptons has to offer. Ben started working with his father as a millworker specializing in custom cabinetry and furniture in high-end residential homes. It was through that experience that he learned the importance of attention to fine details and developed a deeper interest in architecture and construction. At Wirth and Company, Ben enjoys working with his team members to problem solve throughout the construction process while also collaborating with designers, architects and subcontractors to bring their ideas to life and to the homeowner's satisfaction.

Frank Romeo - Project Manager

Frank brings well rounded experience to his work at Wirth and Company. After graduating from Pierson High School in Sag Harbor, Frank went straight into the trades as an apprentice for a local plumbing company. After gaining valuable construction site experience he transitioned into the building materials business where he worked with many local builders and tradesman, building relationships that are still used on a daily basis. Frank began working at Wirth and Company in 2020 and is committed to building great relationships with their clients and providing the exceptional service that they deserve. Frank currently resides in Springs with his wife Summer and their two children. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and volunteering for the Springs Fire Department.
